Congratulations to all the competitors this morning in the state 10km championships, there were some brilliant results. A big well done and pat on the back to Tanya Holliday for her win in the open womens in a new open state record of 45:44.3. Great form coming into the trials in Hobart in a couple of weeks, good luck. Also Jemma Potezny in her first 10km winning the u/20 event in 53:37, excellent time well done. Other really good results as well on the day with Kim Mottrom in 48:51.6 and Justin Hill with 51:57.5.

SARWC Winter Season Starts on the 14 April 2012 with the first race at 1:30pm. Draft program 1 has;
1:30pm 8Km Open, U20
2:00pm 4Km U18, U16
2:00pm 2Km U14, U12
2.00pm 1Km -

The Track Classic is this Saturday the 28th of Jan starting at 4pm and completes at 7:30pm, gates open at 2:30pm. It would be great to see everyone there, we need to support these types of events to help ensure we get them back in SA in the future. Billy Baxters, Mile End, Homemaker Centre (this maybe BBs at the shopping centre across the road from Santos)
We are holding a meeting at Billy Baxters Mile End after the state 10km regarding the 50th anniversary dinner and up coming nationals that are being held in Adelaide. Anyone welcome to attend but important for all committee to attend. We would love your input and involvement. These 2 events are going to be very important to our club. |

Hey guys congrates to Blake who won the u/20 10k in melbourne in a world junior qualifyer and a pb of 43:20 nice work... Kristie who came 2nd in a world walking cup qualifyer and a huge 1min pb of 49:55 and Allegra with a huge time of 1:51:17 for the open 20km and hopefully good enough time to be selected in the u/23 aussie team for the nz/aus challenge, fingers crossed for all 3..... if i have any info wrong please correct me.

Congratulations on a huge effort from our SA walkers. It was a great experience for our young folk and I observed positive signs with the athletes making moves and thinking strategically through the race. Six Athletics Australia judges littered the track within the 400m and none of our athletes received any yellow or red cards. With three in the field we achieved;
3rd and Bronze Medallist Anna Cross in the U14 3Km @15:25:80. A huge PB formally 16:09.
7th with Alix Harlington in the U14 3Km @15:23:18. A huge PB formally 16:03.
8th with Piper Douglas in the U16 3Km @16:54:88. A great effort from Piper in the heat of the day on the most humid day.
A big thank you to Bob Cruise for his guidance and encouragement during the event, Allegra Steele for managing our athletes and Jared and Claire Tallent for meeting with our walkers before the race and cheering them on during the race.
I would like to pass on personal thankyous to Bob Cruise for Anna and Piper and to Megan Szirom for Alix. Their coaching, guidance and programs leading up to this event played a big part in their success.
